Drinking soda will make it almost impossible for you to lose belly fat. It's that bad. Sodas have empty calories which mean there's zero substance in them. You're drinking calories without any nutritional benefit. All you get is processed sugar, high fructose corn syrup, and artificial flavoring. Sugar basically puts your body in fat storage mode so the more you have the more fat you collect.
 
Bottom line is if you want to lose belly fat you absolutely must cut out soda. If you don't stop drinking soda, not only will you gain more belly fat but you'll increase the risk of getting many diseases which could fatal.
 
Risks Of Drinking Soda
 
Research has shown drinking soda leads to a higher risk of a heart attack, liver disease, gaining weight, osteoporosis, type 2 diabetes, pancreatic cancer, kidney decline, higher chance of miscarriage, and many more awful things. There aren't too many foods out there, even unhealthy ones that can cause so many problems in your body. Soda is interesting because while it causes you to gain weight, it tends to form mostly around your belly.
 
Any sugary drink can cause this over time, but soda is definitely the leader. There's a direct link between drinking soda and becoming obese. Being obese already brings health issues along with it, when you add soda into the mix you're only making the problem worse.
 
How To Stop Drinking Soda
 
So the first thing you need to do is toss out all your soda immediately. If you're someone who's hooked on soda then you can always switch to diet soda or even juices TEMPORARILY until you can get yourself down to water, milk, or green tea. Studies are starting to show that even diet soda can cause health problems such as diabetes. Also the sweetness of diet soda will make you crave even more sweets which could lead to a downward spiral.
 
I know that one personally as drinking diet soda would make me crave candy or other sweets. Personally I'd recommend that you don't have diet soda at all but if you have a few here and there you should be fine.
 
Getting off of soda is a tough one but it's one of the most crucial. If you didn’t change anything that you eat and only cut out soda, you can almost guarantee that you'll start losing belly fat. So do yourself a favor and stay away from sodas and use diet soda as an emergency otherwise it could end up causing tremendous damage to your body and ultimately end up killing you.
